Review: Salt

A new franchise is born.

Angelina Jolie IS the new Bond. Period.

This is just the perfect role for Jolie. She cut her teeth on “Lara Croft” films and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” but this is a whole new level. And how perfectly timed with the recent Russian-American spy swap . This movie actually STARTS with a spy swap. Anna Chapman could learn a few tips from Jolie.

There’s lots that’s preposterous here but the action never stops and the twists and turns keep you on edge til the end. Lots of this film go old school. The best chases have Angie jumping from truck to truck. Thank goodness, Salt didn’t catch the 2010 3-D disease or leave us CGI-od’ed.

This is the perfect summer movie. A new franchise is born. Long live the Queen.
